"2019" Sydney International Wine Show - stewarding notes; 10/7/2018-10/12/2018 (Blue Mountains, NSW): {14.1%} Bottle 4089. A black monster in the glass. Quite youthful, but dominated by coconut and vanilla. The 8 barrels name hints at the full-bodied oaky character of this, with medium/high powdery tannins, low/medium acid and just a medium length finish. It mostly avoids too much heat on the finish but it still lacks freshness. Weighty mid-palate though. Good if you like the old-fashioned style; I think it’s a bit clunky myself.
