On day one gravel and herbal notes slightly overpower the brambly red fruit and give the impression of a lean wine. Similar to my last bottle this showed notably better after a day or two under vacuum seal in the fridge. The herbal qualities retreated a bit and the fruit came to the forefront, resulting in a much more balanced flavor profile. Note to self: give these some time in the decanter in the future.

Off the beaten track: Bright red fruit on the nose like raspberries, almost like a lollipop, with pepper and green paprika. Fine and fresh palate, light to medium body, nice balance, fine tannins on the finish with some slight green, herbacous flavors. Delicious already but will benefit from more time in the cellar. 17+/20

A serious wine in need of time in the cellar or a long decant. Beautiful cab franc nose and austere on opening. Still quite pleasant, and would be good for bigger food. Over the course of about eight days in the refrigerator in a sealed decanter, the wine opened, became silkier and improved. Beautiful wi e. I think this truly is a Loire red that will benefit from 20 years in the cellar.

Slightly more herbal than prior bottles, but still very tasty. Actually preferred it after a few days under vacuum seal in the fridge, where it lost some of that green character and seemed to open up a bit.

A real cab franc lover's wine. Herbaceous nose. Fennel, radish, green bell pepper, green peppercorn, thyme, all held together with a ripe plummy and blackcurrant core. On the palate the wine is spicy and meaty. Delicious.
