  • After 45 minutes of air, this is nice old cab. There black currant, lead pencil and a touch of barnyard. The color shows moderate bricking and the tannins have largely faded away. The palate is tasty but has a thin streak with flavors of dark cherry, herbs, tobacco, olives.

  • This bottle is in better shape compared to my recollections of the last bottle. Opens quickly after thirty minutes. The nose is a fantastic show of lingering decadence. The palate is attractive flavors blackberries, tobacco, and brush - fully mellowed out without a lot of structure left. The finish is underwelming not surprisingly given the fragile structure

  • Fully mature, pretty, flavorful, tart black fruit pie, with tobacco and mild spices. Mellow and delicious with a little complexity. Nose is fine but finish is short. For a mid priced Aussie cab twenty eight years later this is a pretty good result but doesn't stand up amongst a collection of classified Bordeaux of similar age.
