An orange wine made from Sémillon (80%) and Viognier (20%). Sees 10 days of skin contact.
Medium-deep golden yellow color. Fragrant and characterful nose with aromas of jalopeño, some bruised apple, a light yet obvious note of saffron and a touch of saffron and a vegetal hint of white asparagus. The wine is full-bodied, round and oily on the palate with characterful, rough-edged flavors of green chili, honey, ripe white peach, some bruised apple, a little bit of Moroccan spices and a hint of tannic astringency. The wine feels quite structured with its moderately high acidity and light touch of tannins, although a wine this big could've used even a bit more of both. The finish is pretty dry and somewhat oily with long, gentle and complex flavors of baked apple, some vegetal jalopeño character, a little bit of peach and a hint of acacia honey.
A very attractive, gentle and positively mellow orange wine with a lot of depth and complexity. I guess most of the complexity comes from Sémillon whereas Viognier mainly contributes to the rich, viscous mouthfeel of the wine. Although the wine is pretty high in acidity with even a little bit of tannic grip, a wine this big might benefit even from more serious and tightly-knit structure. Overall this is a very nice and versatile wine that combines the rich flavors of a ripe white wine, the weight and body of a red wine and the smooth, easy-drinking quality of a rosé wine. Great stuff.

This is an excellent everyday social wine, discerning drinkers, not a conventional wine but paired with food and good company, no complaints! .
