  • A blend of 80% Negroamaro and 20% Montepulciano, aged in barrique, RS 8 gr/l, 14% ABV. Rich black fruit and spice, velvety texture, lots of vanilla, sweet and sour character, good intensity and length but a very toasted, even resinous finish. Sicily is the source of some of the most exciting red wines in Europe these days, especially from Mount Etna, but this is a deplorable attempt to produce something which is designed to mimic mass produced wines from Chili's Central Valley. Some people may like it more than I do, but I find this hard to drink. Why on earth would you want to make a still red wine with 8 gr/l of residual sugar. They should think again.

  • Rich and very pleasant blend of Negroamaro and Montepulciano, round, juicy and elegant. Bitterness of Negroamaro smoothed by educated oak ageing. Easy but very interesting. At Racale in Puglia to start with local wines
