Two hour double decant. Nose of vanilla, blackberry pie, and driveway tar. Black fruits, oak, mocha, and gravel on the dense palate with notes of orange peel and ginger root. Fat tannins on the plump finish, with black currant, black olive, and layers of potpourri, roses, cherry, oak, and vanilla crème brûlée. Great wine but probably better drank on its own than with food, as its so dense that it overwhelms anything else.

Spectacular nose of black and blue fruit, pencil lead and crushed rocks. Decanted for 3 hours, which really wasn’t necessary in my view. BlackBerry, black cherry and licorice with tasty minerality that went well with a juicy Cowboy Star steak!

Initially tight with no nose, but after decanting for 30 mins it started to open up. Drank over 2 hours and it continued to become richer and sweeter. Sweet blackberry and cherry. This is in a good spot.

A fruit bomb that has a tannic tingle finish. Drinking well now and probably for another 3 to 4 years. The legs are awe inspiring and the blue fruit (plum) dominate up front on the palate although a bright note of violets pervade. The interesting ginger note melds well and yields to a leather and earthy finish. Pairs well with dark chocolate worthy of this quaff.

Plush texture with baking spices and cranberry. Ginger notes. So smooth. Drinking lovely now. It did not evolve much over the 2-3 hours of drinking.
