  • Drank with grilled porterhouse. Spicy but very smooth.

  • dark purple. Pleasantly surprised. Carries the decadant, ripe, brambly zin feel very well, at a decent price. Also, not over the top or carrying any residual sugar. A little spice on the end, but a fairly simple zin. Solid wine, at a solid price.

And then... I don't know what happened. I took a reak, and decided to have another glass before bed. The fruit is now flat, and the wine is tart, and sticks to the gums. I tried eating a pretzel to clean my palate, but nothing. It's like the wine disapeared in a couple of hours. While other influences could possibly be at work, I'm going to have to downgrade this Zin from and 85 to 82.

Man I'm having a rough time. Drank this the second day, and it was ok again. Nothing special, but had that ripe fruit thing going on again, balancing out the tannins. I'm gong to put this back to 84. I wish someone else was actually drinking this wine, just to see what they thought.
