  Opened up quickly with a velvety, rich texture and powerful fruit profile. Long on the finish with medium tannins. Some secondary iron and savory herbal notes which I expect will make this an interesting wine 5-8 years from now as well.

  Opened 2.5 hours prior to dinner. The nose is dark fruit. The palate is dark berries, plums, coffee, tree bark and dirty dried leaves. The finish is moderate to long. We drank it alongside a Paul Hobbs CS of the same vintage and the group felt that the Hobbs was a little better. I do think it is still young and could use a few more years in the cellar.
