  • By the glass from a bottle that had been coravined
Orange oil, spices and apricot on the nose. The fruits are definitely on the riper side, and I detect botrytis
The palate is soft and round, compared to what I would expect from the Mosel. It was closer to what I'd expect from Smargd in Austria. This had the beneficial effect of making the wine less austere (which is how I normally find dry Mosels) which therefore matched the fact it was dry better. One suspects this was achieved through unusually high levels (for the Mosel) of lees contact
I have a bottle of this in my cellar and I don't expect to open it before 2030 to allow greater complexity to develop. To be clear, it's drinking well now but I think its true potential will only emerge after a long slumber
91 now, 93-94 potential with age
