  • More muted and less vibrant than the single vineyard wines. Tart raspberry and damp earth dominate. Acidity is high but in check with very evident whole cluster. I imagine this was austere at release and just starting to open up. Good value and might be better in a year.

  • We’ve drank this bottling several times over the last 18 months and feel that it is really beginning to drink very well. Mushrooms and darker berry fruits. This shows a density and richness while retaining a wonderful elegance and finesse. I have a couple more bottles to watch in the next few years. A mostly Eola Amity Hills AVA cuvée that rocks!

  • Earthy, mushroom, forest, with holiday cranberries, strawberry and licorice aromas. The palate carries the cranberry sauce and strawberry pie flavors with an almost Asian Unami flavor that follows. Delightful and should age wonderfully several more years.

from label: “'The very best... and all that jazz.' With love, to the memory of Ruth & Irv Kantor." from website, "This Reserve Cuvee, is a thoughtful selection of some of our favorite barrels in the winery. The Pinot Noir is a blend of clones from some of our top vineyards including Freedom Hill, Clos de Oiseaux, Bieze and Eola Springs Vineyards. The wine was fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for 12 months in French oak barrels with 30% of them new. The wine is unfined and unfiltered."

Burgundy color with light translucence. Nose earthy, dark fruited with a strongly soil character. Palate black cherries with strong acidity, sappy character with prominent brightness. Obviously old-world heart, good balance and class, very enjoyable now but would like to see it again after a couple of years. 92 pts
