  • Dinner for Burg Week 3: 2002 (Chicago): Brilliant garnet. The nose explodes with red fruits and meaty notes, really very attractive and inviting. On the palate, this defines crunchy fruit. The acidity seems high at first, but the fruit comes on to fill out the body a bit and shows a bright red cherry flavor that is lip-smacking. Mild tannins come on in the back and this finishes with a nice twang. What this lacks in depth and complexity it makes up for with serious charm. A very tasty bottle that should continue to drink well and develop for some time.
