Pale, limpid yellow-green color. Clean and somewhat neutral nose with slightly understated aromas of fresh red apple, some zesty citrus fruit notes reminiscent of Citra hops, a little bit of white peach and light floral hints of honeysuckle. The wine is dry, somewhat neutral and balanced on the palate with a medium body and rather linear flavors of fresh apple, some white peach, light stony mineral tones, a little bit of zesty citrus fruits and a floral hint of honeysuckle. The moderately high acidity keeps the wine enjoyably in balance. The finish is ripe and quite long with fresh but also quite one-dimensional flavors of juicy white peach, some appley notes and a little bit of ripe, zesty citrus fruits.

A nice but ultimately rather harmless Pinot Blanc. There's nothing really wrong here, the wine just feels like it is lacking depth, character and complexity. Feels like so many German Pinot Blancs: as the best vineyards are dedicated to Riesling and that's also where all the attention is, these Pinot Blancs feel nothing more than an afterthought. This is a nice little everyday white, but if the "S" version is this simple and uninspiring, I wonder how simple the entry-level Emrich-Schönleber Weissburgunder is?
