Color is dark red and almost opaque. Swirling the wine produces slow, skinny legs. The nose is somewhat muted with hints of blueberries and red cherries. On the palate, flavors of blueberries and cherries carry through, acidity (very food-friendly) and with a hint of dark chocolate/cocoa on the medium finish.

Mixed California Wines (My Place - Washington, DC): Light purple color. Tart blackberry, juicy black cherries on the nose, with enticing black pepper, soy, sweet eucalyptus and pine. Such lively, mouth-tingling acidity with moderate tannins for structure, and a frame of tart black cherries. Laced with white pepper, red pepper flakes, incense sticks, eucalyptus and cedar. A Loire throwback with juicy but tangy California fruit – this can improve for a few years easily. Sourced from the Stymie Bench Vineyard from within the Kelsey Bench Ava, this wine is aged 14 months in 30% new American oak.
