Out of the bottle, this is showing a bit shy and youthful, but very tasty and beautifully aromatic. Opened up nicely with 30-45 minutes of air, lots of juicy & ripe fruit, with punchy acidity and good weight. This wine clearly needs a few years to show its best… compared to the 2018 I drank a few weeks ago, this is much less open and expressive, but still totally delicious. Just give it some air if you open soon.

Concentrated and fresh (per the house style) but lots of new oak to integrate, this will need 5-10yrs after release. Tanins are super sweet, but serious structure. Lots of Vosne spice, etc, and very well made for what is often my least favorite major site. Interesting to compare it from barrel with the Clos Vougeot which affirmed by decision from the last years to continue focusing my purchases on the latter.... 94-95pts.

Barrel tasting at Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg: Barrel sample. Incredible concentration with terrific depth and power. Black cherry and spice for days. 95+ point potential.

MG visit. Surprisingly deep, lots of finesse. Touch of wood here.
