A label that takes enigmatic to uninformative levels. The address indicates it comes from north of Béziers in the Languedoc, and a look at the website says it's mainly syrah, with some grenache, but that's as far as it goes. Youthful black-purple. Initial impression of the nose is that it's a bit odd. A bit funky. Sweaty horse, barnyard, sweet black plums, lots of pepper, and then some completely out of place sour gooseberry and grapefruit. That sour note is jarring. A bit sweet & sour on the attack, with an almost effervescent tingle on the tip of the tongue. Massive tannins take over almost immediately. Running throughout there's a sweet-sour feel to the fruit, with cherry, plum, grapefruit, and that sherbetty, zesty, tingle. All in all, I find this a bit odd. I can only guess that it's wild yeasts and minimal intervention throughout. Would be pretty decent with some charcuterie, particularly rustic, powerful charcuterie.
It seems to be attracting all the fruit flies within a half mile radius.

Fizz on opening. Bright fruit, some funk, spritzy palate, grippy yet cushion-like taninns, some pepper and toasted tobacco. Great balance, perhaps simple yet delicious natural wine

Cassis, raspberries and blood orange. A gravely minerality, some barnyard funk and a little spritz on the tongue. A simple wine but very glou-glou.
