Black fruit (some blueberry too) moving directly into a complex core with mint, herbs, earth, some coffee, thick tannins hit about 2/3 of the way through and carry it home with tons of heft, not the best integration yet though that'll probably come with time. A little shot of acidity at the end keeps things honest.
"Take a moment to calibrate your palate before you have this one, Pinot Boy" she counsels, and it's needed... my palate is definitely not in tune with these big, brash Bordeaux blends. Tasty though! Yum.

Did a quick splash decant a couple hours before I poured my first glass through an aerator. Deep purple in color with thick, juicy legs. Aromas of menthol and blueberry pie nearly leap out of the glass.
Even given my preparation, this wine was still very tight and reticent at first. Cedar and tobacco accents are dominant at first, but dark cassis, plum, blueberry, and dark chocolate come to the fore with time. Full-bodied and almost coarse in the mouth. Acidity is decent and the tannins are strong and chewy. Good length on the finish.
This is an absolute beast of a wine that made me an instant fan of the producer. The cellar potential here is unmistakable, but it's fantastic now with some decanting and time in the glass.

Beautiful bouquet with ripe dark berries and a lot of sweet impressions. Same on the palate; ripe and sweet with good acidity and round tannin.

Good with a short decant. Great fruit, hint of saddle leather, fresh pencil shavings. Silky smooth tannins that are still quite firm.
