  • Drank this with a very close colleague at Ming Kee Live Seafood.

Gold in colour with notes of peach, apricot, minerals, grapefruits, and rich floral notes.

Sharp, with lemon notes and orange peel on the palate. Heavier body as compared to most white wines. Went very well with the crab bee hoon, deep fried fish skin and kailan which we had.

A very good value for money wine.

  • Bought Tesco's UK, reduced to £5.00. Screw cap. Tasted well chilled.

Label is Tesco Finest Albarino, 'Vinas Del Rey', Rias Baixas DDO (not the Comm Islana de Distr)

Utter utter bargain. Much more than a mere 'Fish Wine.' Heaps of round long flavours, salty complexity, minerals, and charm.

Front label promises 'Dry and Aromatic.' That happens. Back label promises 'white flowers and apricots, grapefruit and manderines.' You get all that, and more. This is classy dry white wine, especially suited to seafood but I had it with a curry.

    C....advanced straw.

N....a sea breeze on a summer's day! Charming, salty, refreshing, some wood.

T....lemons, acidity, tons of white fruit, big impression of ripe Quince. Peach. Lovely big round dry white wine with some complexity. Med-body only. Gluggable in the 'all nighter' sense, but ideal with seafood.

VFM?....a steal !! 91/100 'Gold Medal' wine for a Fiver. Drinks like a £10.00 wine. 2016 vintage this part of Spain (Rias Baixas DDO) reportedly a very good one.
