2016 Poderi dal Nespoli Pagadebit Romagna DOC Bombino Bianco from further up the boot offers “nurse-awhile” wining for versatile dining. A squeaky clean apple aroma is the calling card for this zesty citrus lemon refresher. Definitely Kardashianish (tart and round with a perky pucker). Corona’s such a bummer, so why not drink some summer.

Single blind tasting Pale straw with chartreuse edging Medium aromatics of candy peach. No oak Medium + palate of salt, mineral and yellow citrus. Medium + acidity, mild phenolic bitterness and medium - alcohol. Finish is mildly linear. Reasonable balance. Excellent value for the price.

Italian Wine Scholar Class at the Texas Wine School. 100% Bombino Bianco. Clear, bright pale straw. The nose had really nice, intense aromatics, with white flowers, lemon peel, unripe white peach and herbes de Provence. No oak. The palate is bone dry, with medium (+) acidity and medium alcohol (12%). The minerality is medium (+) and the mouthfeel is smooth. The palate is consistent with the nose, with grapefruit predominating on the finish. This is a really, pleasant, balanced wine for everyday drinking. Drink now, not intended for aging.
