  • 12.5% alcohol. Good dense cork of medium length. Light colour with a cristalline purity to it.
Very engaging aromatic nose, with a lot going on (apple, white flowers, honeysuckle).
The mouth is properly vivacious, with Granny Smith apple in evidence and a fairly long finish with superb acidity (not piercing in any way); probably slightly simpler than the nose, but eminently fulfilling nevertheless. As good as Aligoté gets in my experience, and a very good food wine. This rendition elevates Aligoté to the first tier of white grape varieties in my opinion, on par with Sauvignon for instance.
A repeat purchase in a heartbeat.

  • 12.5% alcohol. Very long cork, especially given the modest pedigree of the wine. Very fragrant fruity nose, of the type that might lead you to anticipate some residual sugar. But no, the mouth is perfectly dry while retaining the aromatic richness of the nose; there is acidity, but it does not protrude in any way. Well balanced and utterly charming. A bit of a revelation for me where Aligoté is concerned. A repeat purchase.
