  A solid if unspectacular wine, this was costed at first but opened over an hour or two to reveal a nose of chocolate, sous bois and raspberries. Flavors are a bit muted but it is ten years old. Green leaf, blueberry, anise, tannins ascending over the fruit with a peppery finish. Solid, need to be drunk soon.

  Hints of brett in the nose and tongue, it has an earthy, hay field smell to it as well. Flavors, along with tiny bit of brett and some leather, include some well muted (but not in a bad way) blue fruit, moderate tannins and enough acidity to keep it from being flabby. Feels like just a hint of sweetness, I wonder if there might just be a hint of RS in this? This was a gift from Jeff and Debbie, thanks. A pleasant experience and well aged, ready to go. 1-3 year drinking window.

  OK. The wine is a bit over oaked and has a woody front and a strange bitter ending. It does have classic bell pepper and some good friut does come through all that wood. A decent wine. It's possible I drank too young, but I don't see it getting much better.
