Nice but getting old, we enjoyed a bottle a year or so ago more. There's a herbal note to the flavour and I don't think that the fruit is as expressive as it was. I'm looking forward to a newer vintage.

Colour is a moderate red but has a brown or “rust” tinge to it. Flavours of chocolate, licorice and leather with a slight peppery finish. Body is not heavy and was a very nice change to some of the typical heavier Zin. Tannins were soft. Very enjoyable.

Not made in every year. I believe the next vintage is the 2017. Reddish but browning a bit. Aromas show cherries, raspberries and blackberries (not quite full on dark berry fruit). A nice mineral streak, with some herbs (like garrigue) and spices. An interesting zin but it has more minerality and herbs. Flavours follow the aromas, medium to full bodied, with subtle drying tannins. Shows a bit of the 14.9% alc . There is a touch of bitterness on the mid palate to the finish. Also some orange flavour in with the ripe cherries. Not a heavy mouthfeel. More mineral and herbal driven then fruit driven.

Peppery and uni-dimensional.
