  Short plastic-capped cork, which was soft and crumbly. Soft nose of leather and cocoa, with hints of rancio and nutty oxidation. Smooth, silky mouthfeel: sweet but not sticky, with very little tannin and clean, mild spirit. Rich flavours of molasses, almond, leather, and cassis, finishing with a hint of lychee Still excellent on day 3.

  Short plastic-topped cork, which broke and crumbled on opening. Dark, smoky nose of raisin and chocolate, with a hint of vanilla oak. Palate shows intense sweetness balanced by strong, clean spirit. Concentrated flavours of musk/lychee and chocolate syrup, with oak and rancio characters in the background. Starting to go downhill on the second day: it still has chocolate and lychee flavours, but is also developing a non-complementary barnyard note.
