Mid to dark red in colour. Deep intoxicating red fruit and fresh undergrowth on the nose. Rounded, medium bodied with fine tannins. Perhaps a little plush on the palette, yet the oak seems in check rather than sticking out. Very delicious now whilst still on the fruit although in another 5 to 10 years it may have developed some tertiary complexity. Looking forward to finding out how this develops. 99% Grenache from 90 year old vines from sandy soils. 14.5% ABV.
Comprised of 99% Grenache, this deep ruby wine flaunts an intoxicating bouquet of dark bramble fruits, fig, Provençal herbs, Asian spices and graphite. Full-bodied, low-to-medium in acidity, seamlessly alcoholic (14.5%) and softly oaked, it delivers flavors that mirror the nose, wrapped with tannins that are plentiful but silky-textured. Dense on the mid-palate and closing with impressive length, this is a superb Châteauneuf that is deceivingly structured despite its current approachability. It should easily reach its fifteenth birthday. This particular bottle was Vinturi-decanted and was not tasted until it had been in decanter for more than three hours. I suspect that this degree of aeration is not necessary, but I would recommend at least an hour in decanter if you pop the cork at this stage. Drink now-2031.

Nicely balanced, mild tannins, not terribly complex (at least at this stage), but quite enjoyable, nonetheless.
