  • Fermented with natural yeasts. Aged 10 months on the lees. No MLF. 12,7% alcohol, 6,8 g/l residual sugar, 4,2 g/l acidity (sounds awfully low!)

Pale, semi-neutral green color. Rather light and elegant nose with restrained aromas of apple blossom, citrus zest, honey and some apple purée. The wine feels powerful and relatively full-bodied on the palate, but more sharp and focused than broad and voluminous. There are intense and quite complex flavors of tart citrus fruits, some apple blossom, a little bit of honey, a hint of smoky minerality and a touch of spice. Very nice structure here, making me question if the wine can be so low in acidity? The finish is quite rich and juicy with long, sweet flavors of apple juice and honey, counterpointed with some pithy lemony character, a hint of bitter minerality and piercing, bright acidity.

A very attractive and balanced Grand Cru Riesling that has some fruit-forward feel to it, yet it is very structured and serious in style. Although really young, the wine feels very ready-to-drink right now - although I can imagine the wine couldn't get hurt from a few years in a cellar. Tasty stuff.
