This is extremely floral and aromatic. Jumping out of the glass are flowers, hints of white pepper, and tangy raspberries. Palate is bursting with fruit and pepper. Lots of crunchy blueberries and blackberries. There's lots of acid and good tannic structure, giving this wine plenty of backbone for the cellar. The finish starts with game but that quickly outshined by the hibiscus, flowers, raspberries, and mineral-tension. This has a very long finish.
This was a Syrah? I would have never guessed. This was fantastic. Would absolutely get more if I didn't need to keep exploring.
Drink now with a couple hours in the decanter. Will be fantastic in 5-10 years.

Very dark and primary in my glass. Nose is very floral and peppery. Palate leads with crunchy blue/black fruits, nice pepper and tremendous balancing acidity. Finish is quite long with plenty of tannins and acid. This wine is just a baby. Its got plenty of varietal character and certainly fits Pax's style. Check back in another 3-5 years.

Very good. Had alongside a similarly priced Dunham WA Syrah from 2014 and this was the second place wine. Both were pretty dark and intense, but this showed a little less concentration and less sweet fruit although was more peppery. Nice blackberry dark cherry medium fruit long finish. Very enjoyable though.

Youthful and a jumbled-up mess. I would wait at least two years before trying again. No idea what this will evolve into.

medium weight, fresh, very peppery. Definitely American. didn't get to follow it over time, but seems like it would be tasty with grilled food
