Old Mission Peninsula wines: Deep ruby color. Intense aromatics with tons of spice (black pepper, tobacco, clove) along with roses and tangy red currants. Dusty, light tannins on the palate with crisp, crunchy acidity. A leaner style with tangy red currants, red and black cherries. Lots of roses, pepper, sage, tobacco, over a constantly zippy aesthetic. Fresh, vibrant, interesting stuff! Includes 15% Merlot, aged nine months in a mix of French oak.

First and only bottle, enjoyed from Burgundy stems after a short decant. Mirrors our tasting room notes. Nose and palate are dominated by herbal, rubbery red fruits with some spicy meat ("salami") accents. Driven by crunchy acid, but has a nicely rounded mouthfeel with fine, rubbery tannins. Paired well with a lean, peppery steak. Drink now through 2020. "Very good-to-excellent," 90/100.

Didn't take formal notes, served with beef stew. Overall good, but I think it is passing its prime, fruit flavors were starting to fade.
