At age 8, it is a bit rough and simple. Nose quite nice, taste rather tannic and rough. Wait still longer? Not convinced, and not a good QPR at the price paid.

Even after a long decant on the first evening, this was very closed and unexpressive, with precious little bouquet or fruit. It was a lot better the following evening, with quite deep notes of forest fruits on the nose and much the same on the palate, with quite a rich middle section that promises better things in the future. However, the comparison with the 2014 does it no favours - the latter is simply a much better wine.

Gave it a two hour decant. Colour starting to show a bit of age. Reticent nose, red fruit, graphite, rather elegant. Smooth taste, fine grained tannins at the back end, not very fruit-driven. Then drops off rather fast, finishes a bit short. Not quite sure what to make of this, misses a bit of oomph in what is a very good vintage overall in the Loire region.

Not sure what to make of this. 3rd bottle of a six-pack, this wine has now lost its "baby-fat". What is left is pretty lean, with a tannic and somewhat hard finish. You might call the overall performance "elegant", as it is fairly high-acid as well. Difficult to love at this stage.

Nebbiolo versus Cabernet Franc (Amsterdam, De Koninklijke Industrieele Groote Club, October 12, 2021): A ripe nose, , a bit wood, slightly peppery, good body, no paprika, juicy, even the tannins, ripe taste and a balanced finish.
