I think I've had one of these at a group gathering setting, but this is the first time that I've had one of these "all" to myself (well, mostly...). I think the first (and last) Gargiulo PG I had was a 2020. Either way, this 2017 was still a baby with a lot of acidity. These are sold in clear bottles, so the color is right in your face. This was a light straw color, so didn't seem like there was a lot of oxidation, and the palate mimics this for sure. White peach, Asian pear, medium salinity but very good acidic character. Mid-palate is a little bit herbal and finish had some good yellow fruit notes and a bit chalky on the finish. Surprisingly youthful, and I do think this one has another 3-5 years easy under proper cellar conditions. Neat little wine.

Nice poolside wine. Nose of peach and minerals and dried wildflowers. Entry is a bit acidic, limestone and crushed rock base with honeysuckle and melon with peach, tropical notes, and a hint of lime. Gritty finish. Lime aftertaste. Really interesting yet also really good. This one has quite a few things going on!
