  • Aged for a year in barriques, followed by whopping 4 years of aging in oak botti casks, bottling and remaining in bottles for another year in bottles before release. 13,5% alcohol.

Cloudy, moderately translucent syrupy brown color. Pungent, oxidative nose with aromas of nutty rancio, Oloroso Sherry, some syrupy tones and light mushroomy notes suggesting the wine is past its prime. The wine is silky, medium-to-moderately full-bodied on the palate with somewhat oxidative flavors of meaty umami, some pungent notes of rancio, light beef jerky tones, a hint of salty soy sauce and a sweet touch of raisins. The mouthfeel is quite soft and somewhat flat with the medium acidity and fully resolved, almost completely unnoticeable tannins. The finish is juicy, sweet-toned and rather oxidative with flavors of mushroomy umami, some hoi sin, a little bit of nutty rancio and a hint of tangy salinity.

Already past its prime. Not yet undrinkable, but doesn't really offer anything of real interest anymore.

  • 4th Saturday Group brown bagger (Our house): Garnet color, opaque at the core. Aromas of tobacco, red fruit, tea and herbs. Lush red fruit flavors fill out the palate and persist through the long finish. Guessed Cab Franc.
