Still alot of dark berries, that very specific benovia style. No idea if this would ever have developed any secondary and tertiary notes, doubt it to be honest. But if you enjoy that primary sonoma fruit then this is a good representation

Gave it 45 minutes of air in the fridg and this was beautiful. We are fans of Benovia and the Tilton Hill Pinot in particular. This was silky with good body. A slight tartness was interesting as we usually don't get that with Benovia Pinots or Russian River Valley in general. There were no pepper notes as we've had with the other TH we've had (2013, 2014, 2016) but there is a spice note that got our attention along with understated dark cherry fruit. A subtle floral nose was most alluring. Not your usual blatantly fruit forward and lush RRV Pinot, but most interesting and enjoyable on this evening.

An extra year since the last bottle has been good for this wine. As a young wine this was tannic, acidic and rough, but it's turned into a beautifully balanced wine with rich but not heavy blue fruits with a long finish. Delicious.
