Currant, blueberry, violets on the nose. Nice peppery entry, tight but smooth tannins, blueberry, dark blue fruits, vanilla, nice long finish. Opened a couple hours before tasting, recommend generous decant. Very nice.

This is a wonderful Petit Verdot! It is dark and inky with black and blue fruit. This has graphite, cigar box and earthy notes. It is so balanced for a PV with everything complimenting each other to keep fresh and yet so smooth. Drank well over 3 days.

My fav B. Leighton is the Syrah. Been looking for this for a while now. It’s a beautiful wine. Such concentration, dark and blue fruits on the nose with a pretty floral vibe and dried herbs. The palate is expansive with lush fruits, great acidity, more pretty flowers, dried herbs, and a light smokiness that seems just right. The texture is awesome. Finishes with a nice minerality and tannins that are seamless. As with all his wines, balanced and on point with the varietal.

First of some bottles collected via WineBid as I delve more deeply into Petit Verdot. This was true to what I've been experiencing from this grape but on the lighter bodied side. Not as dynamic as the Decades 5 bottlings I've tried for example, but nice in a more refined way. Still young and may fill out with time. Happy to have found so many PV wines with a great QPR.

Two hour decant, went perfectly with bolognese. Drinking very well now, no doubt, but no rush to finish up.
