  • Med. gold in glass. Light to med. mousse. All apples and lemons with a hint of oxidative notes, likely from the amphora aging.

  • Nose is very typical a little citrus, apples, some butter and yummy brioche. The palate has lots of delicate flavours of citrus, apples and some tropical notes on the finish. There is complexity and depth of finish too. In some ways so typical and yet atypical of champagne. Well worth seeking out to try and #giveanewwineago #burgundynick available at @harrogatewines expensive £54.99 but for for anyone after something a little different then a must buy 92 points

Wine shop owner recommended this to me over Fleury 2004...
Because I didnt try champagne from amphores yet I took it.

    2500 bottles produced

Directly after opening strong yeasty aroma but rather elegant style. Its still very intense but not so brutal like some other growers.

Fine bubbles, quite good mouth feel and nice aftertaste. Very bubby actually so it can overwhelm the mouth at first..

    Mostly citrus, a bit apple...
At first it reminded me partially about andre clouet dream vintages... but after some time its more about a nice saline mineral flavour.
There is also some pleasant grippy bitterness

Its a nice champagne, I see the effect of amphores... it will probably age very nicely and get a better rating but right now its a nice champagne which a rather hefty price tag.
Pertois-Lebrun entry level was not worse than this but much cheaper...
