  • I tasted this earlier this year at the vineyard and thought it be excellent, so bought another bottle to bring home. Barring a few exceptions, Tasmanian Cabernet has not been a general success to date, except for small warm pockets like at Freycinet on the east coast and Domaine A in the Coal Valley. This is a very fine wine - appealing ripe Cabernet aroma, with subtle cedary French oak on the nose, beautifully weighted and intensely flavoured mid palate (plums, cassis, black olive), with a long lasting finish, where prominent yet soft tannins speak to the wine's relative youth. A nicely balanced wine, I would not hesitate to cellar more for at least another 5+ years and would expect to be well rewarded. Screw cap 14%

  • When conditions permit Tassie Cabernet can be a wonderful thing. Supreme balance. presence where its needed. not powerful but not meek. Fine grained tannin and sensible berry fruit. Really good.
