  • Nose of tropical fruit with hints of toasted coconut and creme brulee. Nicely balanced on the palate for my tastes, meaning not overly buttery / mouth-puckering. Oak plays a minor supporting role, definitely in the background rather than the forefront. Just a touch tight on the finish, though it gets better and better as the evening goes on. Would be a great one to try to pair with food. My pick would be coconut shrimp. appertif.

  • Beautiful chard. Very elegant styled and polished wine, that delivers lush layers of tropical fruit. Well balanced with just the right amount of creaminess and butter. Long, lingering finish for a chard. Made from a rare Hyde clone with great Carneros fruit. The Venge father and son winemaking team really made a great drinking chard that is exceptional.
