Popped and poured. This one had an unusually high amount of tiny bubbles upon pouring. Wasn’t corked or fizzy from a second fermentation. Nose was fine but tasted a bit off from the start so let it decant for an hour. It improved quite a bit and regained its usual form of red ripe fruit with some chocolate and tobacco. Tannins are still present. On day 3 it tasted better. But still enjoyed my bottle better last year. This one felt too one dimensional.

Stored in professional wine cellar at 12 degree celsius since release. Bottle and cork in petfect condition. This 2012 has improved over the last few years and is now at its peak showing typical stags leaps district characteristics with many aged old world Bordeaux traits. Still packed with black currant, black cherry and plum fruit, musty, wet leaves and forest floor, pencil shavings. Velvety fine tannins and perfectly balanced acidity. This wine will hold up well for several more years to come.

Nose of cotton candy, sweet ripe red fruit. The oak is now well integrated with some slight tannins. Everything is well balanced. Simple and primary but tasty. Pairs nicely with any pizza, steaks or pastas. Nothing spectacular but a solid wine.

Great Silverado vintage that drinks very well now. Black current and black cherry fruit with dusty fine tannins, layered flavors, minerality, wet forest floor, cigar box. There is plenty of life left and this vintage will integrate further over the next few years.
