South Africa Trip October 2018; 10/3/2018-10/12/2018 (Western Cape, South Africa): off the list at the Pot Luck Club, Cape Town. 9 barrels selected for this cuvee. Opened with some rose and eastern spices, moved swiftly into a bitter dark chocolate phase that I wasn’t so sure about then evolved into a more dark cherry and spice place which was more expected. I’d say it needs more time but is a fairly full on style if not full bodied

Dark color; quite forceful bouquet, reminiscent of syrup and prune pits. Quite a bit of body, mouth filling, round, with some balancing acidity. Reminiscent of Calera. This was not my type of Pinot Noir but I am sure it will find plenty of acolytes out there...

Six Nations Wine Challenge 2018 (Manjit's Wharf, Sydney): Earth, savoury, black hued fruit gamey. On the palate it's a bit overworked and over concentrated. Nah.
