  • Pinot Hunter3's note pretty much sums it up. I picked this up for Eur 17 which getting expensive in a market where the main action is between euros 5-15 a bottle. It seems that the winery is positioning these single varietals above their more mainstream commercial offerings. Is nice packaging and a decent wine enough I wonder to sustain the price point ?

  • This seems to be a great example of sicilian frappato, however the current U.K retail pricetag (£19-24) might have a lot of people expecting more bang for their buck.

The aromatic profile is most pleasant! Ripe red fruits such as strawberry, raspberry and cranberry, lots of floral notes dashed with a subtle spicy herb-like quality. It is nice and fresh, but it lacks intensity.

On the palate, this wine is super light and easy to guzzle. Lots of fresh fruit as expected, well balanced and lively acidity with soft pinot style tannins. The fruit is ripe, but the finish is dry and refreshing with dried herbs shining through.

A simple wine with simple intentions. Drink it!
A classic picnic style wine, enjoy it as a refreshment, ideally in european heat at european prices!

    Drink now-2020
