Dark fruits, tasted with two Felton road (block 5 and Calvert), more herbals and spices, dense and tannic. Showing more strength but less harmony, huge potential ahead, need time to mellow.
Ap 5/5, Ar 13/15, Palate 16/20, Overall 4+4/10 Total 92+/100

Six top Martinborough pinots at the The Wine Bank (Martinborough, New Zealand): Small sample. Brief note. Very dark but bright ruby. A different, more polished bouquet of Christmas cake spices, very dark fruit, liquorice and a hint of violets. A seamless, opulent, dark fruited entry to the palate. Sweeter-seeming than the other wines. Blackberries, dark plums, espresso and liquorice. Concentration and power with some tannic grip on the finish. The least evolved, most primary wine of the six. It's not, by any means, bad, just, for me, the least of a very strong set of six wines. It's a good New World pinot but perhaps a little anonymous, not - to me - speaking strongly of Martinborough terroir. However, it's young. A wine to cellar 5+ more years, I think. My rating 6/6.

Negociants Australia New Release Tasting 2019: Cherry, stalks, red currant. Good savoury palate with some of the herbs and earth melded together. Like the profile and the cut of this.

Similar to the 2010 that I tried last week but with a little more fruit. Dark and plummy, a little simple. Still would not have guessed it as a Pinot.

Blackberry, pretty, slight whole berry, slight spice. Slightly sour black fruits, wetly juicy, front of mouth grip. Okay.
