Cherry and plastic on the nose, moves right into the mouth with that cherry jolly rancher sort of thing, quick transition into a deep, dense core (earth and distinct cotton flavor like licking a tshirt) with all that candy silliness left behind; narrows a bit on the finish with good acidity that lingers long. Density from tannin is there but it's very integrated and in the background all the way. YUM.

ABV 13.75%. 35 years old vines from Temperance Hills. Good nose, floral and expressive. Good mouthfeel, fine tannins, vibrant acidity, pretty good concentration and length. Finished a little spicy and slight warmth. Good spices and some oaks lingering at backend. Burgundian like. A bottle for blind tasting, not sure if I am able to pick this up as from Oregon. Well made and very enjoyable. A producer to look out for in the future. The first 1/3 coravined and completely forgotten until 16 months later, still showing quite well, no sign of oxidation. Floral nose and good mouthfeel, the only fault is some warmth at backend, I suspect ABV is probably above 14% rather than 13.7% on the label. Nevertheless, a pretty good showing. Tasted like a big and ripe Chambolle Musigny.

Pinot in the City (Chicago, IL): Walk-around tasting, brief note. Big step up. Ripe black and red cherry with sneaky structure that keeps it balanced with good weight. Good now. From Temperance Hill.

Superb Pinot Noir, very fresh and can age but good now. Nice fruit but Burgundian minerality

Needs time to open up... can age for many years. Burgundian. Savory. Black cherry. Finishes with long spice.
Temperance Hill fruit.
