A tough vintage for a wine this ignored. Every once in awhile this would come up in my random selection process for drinking and I would pass; had to have something more relevant. But this time, my defenses were down, so I did it.
Pleasant, if unremarkable. Nice old saddle notes, with reasonable fruit remaining. Good color; no bricking. Light to medium weight. The fruit is there but, as I've admitted, I can't quite place the species.
Like a poor performance on the golf course, I was satisfied with it, if not affirmatively enthusiastic.
No particular hurry; it doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

Very well integrated offering. Flavors are plum, cassis and leather at the end. Some brick to the color, and medium body with flavors that are just short of memorable but certainly not over the hill. Quiet, lasting finish. 2000 vintage advertised as not very good and past its prime, but this was a very enjoyable wine.

Great nose, dark ruby color. The tannins are fully integrated into the fruit at this stage. Not a lot of structure left. Medium finish. I was expecting the wine to have declined by now, but there's still fruit left with black currant, tar and leather. If you have any bottles left, drink up. As others have noted, there's a lot of sediment in the wine.

I thought I had opened the 2006! Very impressive, and for the $20 paid on Winebid.com, an even better deal. Balance between fruit, tannins and acid. Opened alongside a 1997 Miner, and both were showing beautifully. Elegant at this age.
