Still quite dense though with a garnet rim. Feeling old and a bit tired at first, but with an hour of air this really freshened up to a ripe Aussie Shiraz. Aging (almost…) gracefully?

Drinking really beautifully right now, at peak and need to start drinking up any remaining holdings now. Quite a good QPR at the CT average price. Still rich and definitely full bodied but now fairly soft, well integrated and not jammy or overpowering at all. Will benefit from at least an hour in the decanter. Big warm dark fruit forward nose, dark purple color and besides initial dark fruit and leather there is a distinct mocha or almost coffee note as well as a lighter eucalyptus note. Very pleasant very long lingering aftertaste. Highly recommend.

At fifteen years, this still resembled earlier tastings from a decade ago with its super ripe berry fruit bordering on raisiny. A bit opulent, almost obtuse, the big rich forward powerful super ripe black and blue berry fruits are like cherry-cola accentuated by graphite, mineral, tones of expresso and hints of dark bittersweet mocha chocolate. It doesn't seem to have aged in that time but will certainly not improve further but start to decline, no matter, since this was our last bottle. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2020/11/marquis-philips-9-mclaren-vale-shiraz.html

Raspberry purée, cherry cola, dark chocolate, and vanilla. Simple, easy to drink wine. Works well with chips and salsa.
