  • Dense, dark berries, touch of olive. Needs a spell in a decanter, but has years ahead of it. Very nice wine. 94++

  • Stunning example from a vintage that I have not been too fond of due to lack of mid palate density. Immediately Margs on the nose- black olive and nori. Rustic style yet so elegant and medium bodied. Oak very much settled, not a whisper, it is unadulterated and fruit driven at this mid life. Delicious, thank you Duck. You get the feeling that this is on the cusp of transforming in to more mushroomy tertiary character. Outstanding.

  • This is a Cab Sauv for the books. You open it, decant it a bit and it's stunningly ready to drink. Deep ruby in the glass. Nose is rich with notes of ripe black berry fruit, cedar, rosemary and a ton of sweet oak aromas. Chewy in the mouth, only something that you get from Cabs or Merlots made in perfect vintages. The acid is there, the tannins are there, the oak is beautifully integrated with everything. Finish is long, dry, but with a nice streak of acid to brighten things up. Cheap as fuck, so if you're close to this, buy as much as you can.

  • I picked up 3 of these after some positive critic reviews. I hadn’t planned on opening any for a while but saw the bottle on a restaurant wine list (first post covid19 lockdown dinner out).

The wine was PnP right it front of me. The first hour this wine displays a fairly unpleasant sour/bitter finish which makes it almost undrinkable.

I was quite annoyed and curious if this was a ‘bad bottle’. So the next day I opened and decantered for 5 hours before drinking over the following 2-3 hours. The bitterness had largely faded away to reveal something quite pleasant and bodes well for a good and long future. 92-93+
