PNP - black / red color. On nose, tobacco, iron, blackberry and leather. Full body, medium+ acidity, medium+ tannins and long finish. Fell apart on night 2 so drink up. 91+/-

Excellent value here. Lots of complexity. Nose of cooked berries, grilled meat and wood smoke. Rich yet bright fruit on the palate. Strong dose of tannin. Rocky with deep, ripe purple fruits. In contrast to the Taurasi from a couple nights ago this picks up weight over night. There isn't the depth of complexity that wine has of course but this is something for its price point. Especially considering its age. Whether the fruit has the guts to get better with more age is not something I would bet on. There is enough fruit and structure to have this live in a very comfortable place for at least a decade. Very nice. Saved some for night three. Still going strong, picking up an herby stem note. A lot like how stems show in riper Pinots or Syrahs. Maybe some woodiness in the background on the palate too. Fruit is still full bodied. Stout wine.

2nd bottle with no good notes - seems to be consistent problem on my part. Wine seemed tired - good fruit but not as much complexity as prior bottle. 89+/-

Haven’t drunk a lot of aglianico but really enjoyed this. Strong red fruits, barolo like tannins.
