  • Savoury plums and leather with notes of cedar supported with some pleasing tannins. Surprisingly fresh and vibrant it had beautiful poise and structure transforming to a delightful mocha finish. Considering the generally poor rating of the vintage this was an over-achiever. 92 pts

  • Pen ink and raspberry on the nose. On the palate, blackberry and black cherry with notes of plum, vanilla, and earthy spice on the long finish, with fine tannins and well-balanced acidity. This is excellent, and I'm glad I have more. It did have a little sediment, so decanting is recommended.

  • Checking in on this again at its nearly 17th birthday. Nose is deep raspberry with a chocolate and plummyness. No real tertiary flavour yet. Just smells classy and the smell lingers long after you take your nose out of the glass - Radiance is the word that keeps leaping out of my mind. The palate is all velvet, tannins are sleek and juicy, flavour is rich yet balanced, still with that clinet decadence, and oh so moreish. Really great place at mo. Bought this back in the day when good wine was affordable and all you needed was a bit of patience. Looking forward to following its progress. If you have a bottle, take a few hours to savour and get to know it.

  • Flowers, black raspberries, chocolate and menthol create the perfume. The wine is full bodied, concentrated and resides between its lean to its elegance and firm characteristics. The fruit is ripe, sweet and plummy, with a touch of green herbs in the finish. With an hour of air, it’s drinking just great at this stage. Drink from 2023-2036.

  • Dark color, nice bouquet, wine age beautifully, good fruit and well balanced with tannin, drank with filet mignon and Maine lobster tails, showed well compared other aged Bordeaux's.

(Chateau Clinet Pomerol) #2; COLOR-dark; NOSE-a little tight; dark fruits; a little cave action; a spearmint freshness; TASTE-very dry; gorgeous dried cranberry; red fruit flavors; this is extremely good; nice quality; doesn't have the elegance and refinement of the '05; will likely last 5-10 years less than the '05; drinking very well right now; GV-93
