  • Terroir-istes International - France, Alsace Riesling Grand Cru (Cape Town Law offices): (Tasted Blind): Mid yellow in colour. Intense white flowers with chalk, lemon verbena, oyster shell, honey and a touch of wax. A strident, clean acidity entry, with plenty of lime and orange fruit with savoury notes, honey and providing a nice counterpoint.
A good to excellent example as plenty is going on with kumquat, smoky and flinty notes. It is relatively weighty in the mid-palate yet remains delicate and has a decent finish with the integration of some pithy, saline qualities.
This is an idiosyncratic grower who doesn't focus too much on the money but rather makes pure wine that reflects his ground; all undergo a slow fermentation to give a sense of delicacy.
