Consistent with past notes a few years ago, only more accessible and fruit-forward on the palate. Nearly a full mouthful, this is a big, rich, dense Pinot with an avalanche of black and blue fruit. We definitely noticed the 14%+ ABV compared to most Burgs we drink, so it was a little heavy and tiring by the last glass. Still, this was enjoyable even if it's an alternative style to what we usually drink. Will be best 2024-2028. Technical score: 89. Enjoyment score: 90.

Opened and decanted 1.5 hours ahead of grilled herb chicken. Dark ruby with crimson hue. Nose was mute but eventually brought lavender, wood smoke, and rhubarb notes. The palate was medium, round, thin, and tangy, bringing good cherry-pomegranate mixed with blueberries, blackberries, and cola notes. The palate gained fat and weight with air. Drink 2022-2028. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

Nose of black cherry, cola, spice. Dark cherries with a zesty red fruit undertone then peppery cherry cough drop. Bold but pliant finish with thick tannins, oak, cherry syrup, and a stony finish. 92+ points.

Blended from a selection of blocks across the winery's 78-acre estate, the 2016 Alloro Riservata is clean and precise. Black cherries and black raspberries lie beneath more ethereal notes of lanolin, dried herbs, forest floor, and blooming florality. Aged in 35%-45% new French oak barrels—in the mouth, it’s exquisitely balanced with ultra-fine, sueded tannins twining bright acidity that crescendos in a pretty sensory arc—one that gradually subsides in a trail of dried oregano, creeping thyme, and a dusting of minerality. 14.3% ABV | Sample

Crunchy red and blue fruits with a fantastic finish. A real wow wine. More detailed note at a sit-down tasting (notes from tasting room). Fantastic wine. Hold for at least a year +
