  • 100% Tempranillo. American and French oak. PnP. Raspberry aromas with some oak spice and hint of vanilla. Bright dark berries on the palate, earth, some herbs. Prominent tannins still with excellent acids. Full bodied. Mild vanilla and dill on the back end. With more air, the wine tightens up a bit, becomes more linear with aded elegance. The oak is fairly well integrated. Tastes younger than 24 years old.

  • Color: light/medium ruby core -> diffuse light garnet rim. Opened and let breathe for 2+ hours -- it took time to develop. What finally unfurled showed a lovely, mature bouquet of leather, cassis, oak and a little barnyard -- not too dissimilar to a nice old Bordeaux. Palate of sour cherries, earth and leather. Light to medium bodied -- this could benefit with a longer finish (but it is 20 years old, after all . . .) and maybe a little more fruit but is still holding nicely. Great nose, just falls off in the mouth a little. Drink soon as I don't see this getting any better.

  • hmm i was wrong. Another 9 months of cellar time has done wonders to this wine. Its shining right now and i found loads of VERY tasty fruit. glad I have more - a really tasty and well balanced wine.

  • At its peak but holding very nicely. Way better showing than last time I had this one in 2005. Very Ribera and really expressive. Now fully intergrated tannis, all within a nice profile, though I could use a little more fruit and concentration. Good and enjoayble but could be a lot better.
