This particular bottle was in great shape, very fresh and showing surprisingly little secondary aromas. Same on the palate. That said, I didn't find that wine particularly interesting either, with its monochromatic fruit and rather dull acidity. It has none of the exuberance and dramatic evolution in the glass of Joly's 90s bottlings (those that are still drinkable, at least)

Disappointing, and that's putting it mildly. The wine has very little character, and seems as though it's being held together by something chemical. Artificially youthful, and the 7 others at the table all found it very hard to drink. A strange period for Joly, but perhaps a bad bottle.

Occupy Spoof comes to town. (Joe's.): Unfortunately, completely dominated by sulfur. Underneath it one can see that it's a lean wine that's a bit too mushroomy, though there's nice minerality and some yellow fruit, but the wine could really use some more stuffing to balance things out and it's just impossible to escape the sulfur. B-/C+.

Kellogs Special K :-) , oak notes, corn, almonds, massive acidity, brioche, reminds me of a vintage champagne
