Double-decanted. Paired against Bosquet Le Lieu Dit 2016. Both displayed decent typicity. While both had an earthy base, La Colline was darker in nature, with ripe cherry fruit, chocolate, a nice herbal touch, but also with notable heat unfortunately. The palate still slightly out of sync. Unlike the Lieu Dit which felt peakish, this one will likely benefit from another 2-3 years of bottle age.

My fear of finding an overripe, high-alcohol bruiser of a wine was replaced by delight over this lovely, rich, velvety bottle which has lasted for over a week with no real sign of oxidation. Dense, concentrated yet still light enough on its feet to be food friendly thanks to impeccable balance, I suspect it will provide delightful drinking for many years to come.

Double-decanted (no longer decant needed). Black coffee, black tea and a more black cherry type of fruit compared to the Le Lieu-Dit from the same vintage which we paired this against. Decent concentration on the palate which was nicely balanced, but failed to offer exciting angles.

Drank first of two and I hope it was a bad bottle. I usually love gigondas. From the coravin. Stewed fruit and alcoholic heat. That was all I got. Nose was overpowering stewed fruit and not good. Flavor was worse. Very disappointing. Will change rating to flawed if the other bottle is better.
