not blind I love the balance of this wine. Not too flinty, not too reductive and not too creamy. Still at the beginning. Drank it over 3 hours. Still at the begin of its evolution. 98

Ruchottes-ish (Ensue): First time drinking the anniversary label, this is incredible. Opulently perfumed sesame reduction, so pure and clean, almost like a less fat version of d'Auvenay (to the best of my descriptive ability). White fruit and florals, high acid, lemon, pastry cream, zesty, roasted nuts, oily, grand. Huge structure on the palate, only showing light Batard fatness after hours of air. Made for the long long term. 96+
Wine gathering at RJ's; 4/4/2023-4/7/2023 (South Carolina): Expressive nose displaying intense opulent yellow fruit with a hint of white, strong lemon curd, lemon oil, a hint of pineapple, flint, lanoline, sweet spices and crushed rocks. Exceptional concentration, layers upon layers of opulent yellow fruit, rich, ripe and oily but also showing very good balance and precision, bright acidity, strong mineral, and a long concentrated yellow fruit driven finish with flint and beeswax at the end. The classic Batard expression, showing incredible intensity and force. This is significantly bigger, riper and more acidic than the Combettes from the night before. This can easily improve for a couple more decades if cellared ideally.

Again such a chiseled and sharp Batard edition with so much drive and precision. Perhaps a touch too toned, gimme Batard fattiness! 96+

Stunning young Chardonnay. Reduction well-executed with citrus-dominated flavors that last for days. Wow! (O 0325)
